Our francophonic big mouth Jean-Louis Murat is back in action!
A year after the release of the successful ''A Bird On A Poire'' composed by his comrade Fred Jimenez, "ze" Murat indeed wasn't long to come back by changing his formula and showing his prolific work. With his arrogance and tendancy to speak his mind, (last year on French television he openly ran down Stevie Winwood and Jimmy Page in Guillaume Durand's music show ''Trafic'') he is still as implacable and as denouncing as before with this new album ''Moscou''. Fascinated by litterature, Murat threw himself into18th and 19th century Russian litterature, and sprinkled some poem verses of Alexander Pouchkine in the song ''La Fille du Capitaine''. Puzzled by Pouchkine's correspondence, Murat became bestowed by the works of Pierre Jean de Béranger, poet and songwriter and interprets three of his texts (''La Bacchante'', ''La Fille Du Fossoyeur'' and ''Jeanne La Rousse''). He must have had a good time in the charming company of the suave and sweet voiced Marie-Jeanne Séréro, who already belonged to ''A Bird On A Poire'''s cast. We can hear as well Mely Ruben, sometimes performing during the opening parts of his concerts and the noticeable Carla Bruni, indeed drawing attention with her whisperings that betray her lack of breath. With this album, Murat gets back to his geniune and proper style, marking with his seal 14 songs peppered with jest, sensuality, darkness, odes to love and nature.
